Promotion of the program
The Associate Degree Program in Social Services offers the opportunity to develop solutions for social problems and to specialize in areas where there are social problems in order to provide services to individuals living in various dimensions. The aim is to provide the educational development of the individuals who want to specialize the field theoretically and practically and who are sensitive to social problems.
The students who are graduated from this department get "Social Service Technician" and "Social Worker Assistant" title. It helps the children in need of protection by their professional knowledge and skill in solving the problems of the groups such as the elderly, the disabled, the criminals, the lovers, the patients and the unemployed; provisions on the creation and protection of these problems.
Many of our graduate students are aiming for "Social Worker" by trying to get postgraduate social work training with the Transition Examination (DGS). With the passing examination (DGS):
* Social service
* Sociology
They switch to one.
Purpose of the program
The purpose of the social work associate degree program is to contribute to the development of qualifications and the training of new staff members who are already employed in the field of social work and who have not received an academic education on the subject.
Program Benefits
Students who successfully complete the program will have the ability to integrate behavioral sciences, social service methods and techniques and field applications within the framework of their professional responsibilities. They will be able to perform successfully at national and international level and integrate the necessary information for social services.
Programa Placement
Programa placement procedures will be done by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) by means of central placement based on students' GPA scores.
Employment Areas
Individuals who receive social work education work as intermediaries who are regulatory, planner, practitioner, effective communication and leadership qualities in rural and urban areas, public, private sector and non-governmental organizations. These intermediaries assist the individuals with their professional knowledge and skills in solving the problems of various groups such as children in need of protection, elderly people, people with disabilities, criminals, poor people, patients, unemployed people; conduct their work through institutions and community resources to socially prevent and solve these problems.
